My colleague and Payroll expert Sandra Dodge came across an interesting scenario a few months ago regarding duplicate Pay Stubs.
So for you that use the Dynamics GP 2010 Payroll this one is for you….She says, Read the rest of this entry »

If you are using the HR/Payroll modules with Paid Time Off (PTO) there is a change to the Employee PTO setup window. You might find in the documentation that to activate the PTO for the employee you have to select the “Use Custom Accrual Method,” checkbox. This is true for v10 and previous versions of Dynamics GP. However, in GP2010 by default the custom accrual methods are already activated. Consequently, no “Use Custom Accrual Method” check box on the Cards>>Payroll>>PTO window. Read the rest of this entry »

I feel I’ve always been a pretty decent listener. And for the most part I think I’m a pretty good communicator, too. I do sometimes get side-tracked and use too many words to say something simple, but besides that, I like to think I can express my thoughts clearly.
I’ve found that your communication skills become habitual when you are constantly interacting with the same people. Classmates from college can understand me pretty well, and my family can read me even better. But when I first started working at I.B.I.S., Inc., it was like a whole new ball game. Returning home from a week of travel I was met by a postal delivery sticker on my front door marked “Undeliverable,” please contact yatta yatta yatta… My first thought…”IRS Notice but I know I filed my taxes on time.” My second thought, “Oh, an early birthday present. Yeah!!!” and then my third thought, “Perhaps just a wrong address, I haven’t ordered anything.”
Out of pure curiosity I made the pick-up. No, it wasn’t marked FRAG–JILL–LEE (Fragile) but in its cardboard wrapping was something so much better.

I recently completed a project – All. By. My. Self. Okay, maybe not completely and totally by myself, but I was on-site alone for the entire implementation. And this was a first.
I don’t want to make this sound grander and more glorious than it really was, but it was an incredibly short timeline and I was up to my ears in a new experience. There was no sales-to-service type meeting, and I only had a short one-hour debriefing before actually walking through their doors. Talk about being spontaneous. Read the rest of this entry »

The Search and Duplicate feature within ReQlogic seems to be a hidden treasure. From a QA perspective, it helps speed up the process when testing different thresholds for routing policies. As a user, it can help you search for, find, and replicate requisitions, expense documents, or vendor invoices that are repeatedly entered.
Within ReQlogic, navigate to Transactions > Search and Duplicate. You will quickly notice there are several, and I mean several, search criteria that you can use to filter down the results of your query. One filter that I always use, no matter what I’m searching for, is the Document Type drop-down field. The options are Requisition Documents, Expense Documents, and Invoice Documents. Clearly, you must make the correct selection here to get the results you want. Read the rest of this entry »
