An Interview with Andy – Microsoft Dynamics 2010
Posted Thursday, May 27th, 2010
May 1, 2010 Microsoft Dynamics 2010 was released. Thinking version 9 and 10, WOW! Microsoft really stepped up their game…then came along version 2010. This brought Microsoft Dynamics GP into a whole new playing field and was revolutionary to ERP solutions. However, in reflection I thought what does version 2010 mean to the real world user and to the future of Microsoft Dynamics GP? This was a hard question so I purposed it to Andy. “If there is one thing you would want people to walk away knowing about Microsoft Dynamics GP, what would it be?” Andy replied, “That Dynamics GP is not going away and can handle international companies’ needs. There are many rumors out there. Microsoft continues to invest heavily in Dynamics GP. Look at Dynamics GP 2010 and it is obvious. Dynamics GP drives a ton of revenue for Microsoft. Why would Microsoft want to alienate 40,000 clients? They don’t and they will not. IBIS’ Dynamics GP Practice is thriving and growing. We love Dynamics GP!”
Digging a bit deeper and going beyond Convergence 2010, product education to both clients and I.B.I.S., Inc.’s employees is a value established months in advance of any new release. Blogs, webinars, newsletters, etc…are distributed. These are the tools brought to you free so you will also be in the know. This is an idea that John Koontz here at I.B.I.S., Inc. pioneered. What Andy says, “I never thought we would enjoy such a success or be so appreciated! The response is overwhelming. When John Koontz proposed this idea, we knew it was a good one, but never dreamed it would take off like this. We have people from all over tuning in and learning. It just proves when you have something of great value to share, people show up. Our professionals are the best and they love to share their knowledge with the Dynamics community. We are even taking suggestions on what topics people want to hear about. I love doing it!”
Andy goes on to say, “We already have had two “What’s New” seminars and plan to feature the new benefits of Dynamics GP 2010 in our Tuesday webinar series. And of course, we will be talking it up with everyone that will listen! Mark Polino, our resident Dynamics GP MVP, has included a few Dynamics GP 2010 tips and tricks in his 50 Tips in 50 minutes presentation, from his new book, “Microsoft Dynamics GP 2010 Cookbook“, that we feature on DynamicsCare.com. And of course, we will be blogging all about Dynamics GP 2010 on DynamicsCare.com.”
Behind the scenes at I.B.I.S., Inc., “We have been getting early releases for several months now. All IBIS consultants have had access to the software so it would not be a surprise to them. Also, we encouraged everyone to attend our DynamicsCare Webinar: What’s new in GP 2010 at June 1st, at 11:00 EST so we can hit the ground running with our first Dynamics GP 2010 engagement. Please click here to register for our DynamicsCare Webinar Series. And, in addition, we are also implementing Dynamics GP 2010 at IBIS.”
